Government Agencies

ERRVA maintains close relations with key government departments and agencies, particularly the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). The Association’s input has been influential in the formation of various pieces of legislation, such as the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, and Emergency Response Regulations, as well as the accompanying Approved Code of Practice. This collaboration has also facilitated the transfer of certain government responsibilities related to offshore emergency response and rescue services.

OEUK

ERRVA closely liaises with OEUK through informal interactions and a Joint Working Group that meets every three months.

OPITO

OPITO coordinates the training of crew members in specialised areas of recovery and rescue. The Association is represented on the Training Standards Committee of OPITO and on all Work Groups that develop ERRV crew training standards.

EERTAG

ERRVA is represented on the Evacuation, Escape and Rescue Technical Advisory Group (EERTAG), the industry body responsible for monitoring all aspects of specialist technology for offshore evacuation, escape, and rescue. This group includes representatives from OEUK, HSE, MCA, and the unions.
